Which is the best club or executive lounge at the best luxury hotels in Rome? Usually, the Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental offer the best club lounge in a city or resort, but there is no Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental in Rome. You are therefore left with a rather limited selection of hotels in Rome with club lounges which I have outlined below.
If you’re a luxury traveler, and a club lounge isn’t a deal breaker, we expect the brand new Bulgari Roma to be outstanding. We visited their flagship Bulgari Milan late last year and it was brilliant. Opening in 2023, Bulgari Hotel Roma will be an incredible luxury hotel located in the heart of the Campo Marzio neighborhood, minutes from the Spanish Steps, Via del Corso, and the Bulgari flagship on Via Condotti.
The new Bulgari Hotel Roma, pictured above, will occupy a magnificent modernist building from the 1930s that faces two of Rome’s most iconic landmarks: the Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus, the first Roman Imperator.
Like all Bulgari Hotels properties, the Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel will be in charge of both the restoration of the building and the interior design of the new Bulgari Hotel Roma, which will count over 100 rooms, most of them suites, as well as the prestigious Il Ristorante curated by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito and The Bulgari Bar.
You may or may not know that if you book a stay at any luxury hotel in Rome, including the Bulgari using an official Preferred Partner agent like our luxury travel concierge, you will get two free breakfasts along with other fantastic benefits such as a delicious welcome gift, a prioritized room upgrade (subject to availability) and $100 resort credit.
We offer free upgrades, free breakfasts, and free perks at almost all luxury hotels (and you can also collect your usual Marriott Bonvoy Hyatt, etc., points and status benefits on bookings made with us too). See what our clients say about us and how thrilled they are with the extra benefits we provide.
1. Best Club Lounge: Rome Cavalieri, The Waldorf Astoria Collection
According to our latest research, Rome Cavalieri, The Waldorf Astoria Collection, is the only luxury hotel in Rome with a club lounge. This Waldorf Astoria is a resort on a hilltop overlooking Rome offering incredible views, but it’s not a part of Rome’s inner city. This classy hotel is full of art and is a true luxury hotel, if a little dated. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from the Piazza Barberini.
The Imperial Club Lounge offers a nice selection of food throughout the day including a very decent breakfast served until 10:30 am and a lovely view. It is an elegant space and tends not to be crowded. There is an outdoor area with seating for alfresco enjoyment. There is no access to this club lounge for Hilton Diamond members or those with any other tier status, you can only access the lounge if you pay for it.
To access this lounge you can book an Imperial Room but the cheapest way to get access to the Imperial Club Lounge is often to book a standard room and then try for the standby upgrade which they offer for around 126 Euros per night. This means when you arrive, if there is availability, they will give you access for this agreed fee. You can stay on any floor and still have lounge access. It is worth splurging on a room with a view here as the views across Rome are gorgeous.
2. Hilton Rome Airport At Fiumicino Airport
The Hilton Rome Airport At Fiumicino Airport is a reasonable airport hotel, although not one for the luxury traveler. Book a room with Executive Plus, and you will be upgraded to a room with lounge access. They say there are drinks, snacks, newspapers, and high-speed internet available in the lounge, along with an extensive sweet and savory buffet breakfast daily.
