What to actually do in Hamilton: the escarpment waterfalls it's famous for (Webster's, Tews, Albion), historic Dundurn Castle, the Royal Botanical Gardens, and the Bruce Trail lookouts — a compact day or weekend trip from Toronto.
Our take
Chase the waterfalls after heavy rain or spring melt — Hamilton has over 100, but many smaller escarpment falls slow to a trickle by late summer. Webster's and Tews sit in Spencer Gorge, which needs a timed parking reservation on weekends and holidays — book it before you drive out, not at the gate.
