Our take
Don't book past January without checking the air quality — Chiang Mai's burning season (roughly mid-February to April) pushes AQI into the hazardous range and no condo filter fully fixes it. Come November to February instead, and if you're staying months rather than weeks, look at Thailand's DTV visa: it's built for exactly this and beats hopping on visa runs.
