Mykonos divides opinion. The whitewashed alleys, Little Venice, the windmills and Delos island are genuinely beautiful. But the island is expensive, barren, overcrowded and not the right choice if you want quiet beaches or budget travel. Shoulder season is the sweet spot.

If you want vibrant nightlife, luxury resorts and iconic whitewashed scenery and can handle crowds and high prices, Mykonos delivers. If you prefer quiet and affordable, pick Crete or Kefalonia instead.
